Remember, this Tuesday the students will be getting out early to start their Thanksgiving Break. I hope you all have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving with your loved ones. Take Care, Mrs. J. I hope this finds you all happy and healthy. We have had a lot of flu and cold bugs in the classroom the past couple of weeks, so I'm hoping we all start to feel well again. :)
This past week we practiced clapping out words by syllables, writing capital and lowercase letters, words, and writing simple sentences. Students took their Unit 5 Fundations Test. We finished our book Judy Moody and started a new chapter book one of our students is sharing with us called Horrid Henry. Students rotated around their Guided Reading Centers to practice their reading and writing skills individually, with partners, in small groups, and with me. Students had a chance to get outside during Recess and enjoy their lunch and snack times.
We continued with our Everyday Math lessons. We have taken our Post Test Unit 3 Test and our Pre Test for Unit 4. Students rotated to their four different stations to practice their addition, subtraction, number model, and numerical skills on their own, with partners, in small groups, and with me. Students took part in Computers with Mr. Deatherage, Library with Mrs. Mann, Music with Mr. Nelson, Art with Miss Gleason, and P.E. with Mr. Dahlberg. We continued writing our nonfiction chapter books and adding a Table of Contents page to our books. Students started their Community Economic and Native American Units in Social Studies on the promethium board and class discussions. We continued talking about reading body language and emotions in Second Step. The children learned about Sound in Science and watched a few different short Science videos on nature.
I hope you all have a great weekend! Mrs. Zimmermann
